Job Description

Travel Experience Specialist

Want to work in travel as part of the world’s best team? Classic Journeys operates the world’s finest walking tours. How can we say that so confidently? Travel + Leisure magazine has named us the World’s Best Tour Operator twice and inducted us into its Hall of Fame. And Forbes magazine says we are their Luxury Walking Favorite. Founded in 1995, we offer 50 itineraries in 40 countries on six continents, and we are a member of the Lindblad Expeditions family of world-class adventure companies.

Do you have extensive travel sales experience? Do you love talking about travel? Do you enjoy helping others plan a trip? If so, you may have just found the perfect company for you. We’re seeking someone who has top-notch relationship selling skills as well as an inherent desire to help guests choose to travel with us on a handcrafted trip of a lifetime. (Not required, but bonus points for you and us if you have lived abroad or have solid travel experience.)

Our Travel Experience Specialists serve as trusted advisors, helping guests determine which Classic Journeys experience best fits their interests, travel style, activity level, and goals. Through thoughtful conversations, active listening, and consultative sales techniques, you will guide guests from initial inquiry through reservation while building long-term relationships that inspire repeat travel.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, uncovering needs, providing recommendations, and helping guests make confident travel decisions.

· Collaborate closely with Operations, Guest Services, and Marketing to deliver a seamless guest experience.

· Identify opportunities to increase guest value through additional departures, future travel, and repeat bookings.

· Consistently achieve individual and team monthly and yearly sales goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum 2+ years of experience in consultative sales, luxury travel sales, hospitality sales, or another relationship-driven sales environment.

· Demonstrated ability to build trust and guide customers through a high-value purchase decision.

· Strong discovery, listening, objection-handling, and relationship-building skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

· Experience managing a sales pipeline and maintaining CRM records.

· Comfortable balancing multiple guest conversations and follow-up activities.

· Self-motivated and highly organized while working remotely.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience selling luxury travel, adventure travel, cruises, or experiential travel products.

· Personal international travel experience.

· Experience using Salesforce and/or HubSpot.

· Experience working in a commission-based sales environment.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE

Success in this role requires developing a deep understanding of our destinations, itineraries, guest profiles, and consultative sales process.
