Paraprofessional (Special Education) Compensation Range: $22-27/hour
Location: Wooster, OH; Onsite – School Setting

Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift: - Shift details: School Day Schedule
- Hours per week: 35 hours per week
- Contract length: School Year
Key Duties - Assisting in the implementation of lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to individual learning styles.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages active participation and collaboration among students.
- Assist with managing classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, and other members of the students' IEP team to ensure each student's needs are being met.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education, literacy, math, and childhood development.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional academic assistance
- Monitor and supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and breaks
- Help prepare and organize instructional materials, resources, and lesson aids
- Reinforce classroom rules and behavioral expectations to maintain a safe learning environment
- Track and document student progress and report observations to lead teachers
- Support students with special needs or individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed
Requirements
Education: - Associate’s degree or ETS ParaPro Assessment with the minimum Ohio passing score or higher.
Licenses & Certifications
Experience: - Previous experience working with special needs children is required.
Skills - Previous experience working in an educational environment with behavioral/Special Education students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to working with diverse student populations
- Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
- Familiarity with implementing curriculum and lesson planning strategies
- Experience in behavior management techniques tailored for diverse learners
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus, or willingness to learn
